Overview

[68Ga]Ga-NOTA-RW102 is a radiopharmaceutical PET tracer designed for the non-invasive imaging of Programmed Death-Ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression in various malignancies. It consists of the radioisotope Gallium-68 (68Ga) chelated by NOTA (1,4,7-triazacyclononane-1,4,7-triacetic acid) and conjugated to the RW102 peptide, which exhibits high affinity and specificity for the PD-L1 protein. By binding to PD-L1 on the surface of tumor cells and immune cells within the tumor microenvironment, the tracer allows for the quantification of PD-L1 levels using Positron Emission Tomography (PET). This information is critical for identifying patients likely to respond to immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapies and for monitoring treatment response. The development of this tracer is primarily associated with academic research institutions, particularly Peking University Cancer Hospital.
